Some of you have been working hard this semester; so for this week, find your favorite cupcake recipe and copy and paste it in your response. Make sure the ingredients are correct and easily attainable and that the measurements are exact. Then, read the recipes posted by your classmates, and comment on the one, other than your own, that you think sounds the most delicious. You must read and respond to at least one of your classmates. The cupcake recipe that receives the most comments could potentially be one that I make for your class in the not-so-distant future!

What is your first impression of the book you've chosen for your final project? What is your impression of the project, itself? What will you need to do to be successful? Your response needs to be at least 100 words, and you only need to respond to me.
Think about how Chaucer used the characters' descriptions to represent their personalities, including how they walk and talk, how they dress, and how their hair looks. His descriptions also include what they talk about and activities they may or may not participate in.
Now, imagine what Chaucer would say about you. How would Chaucer describe you (in about 150 words) based on the dominate traits of your personality--not merely your physical characteristics, but everything combined that makes you you? http://classroom.synonym.com/effects-frame-narrative-1733.html
Read the information contained in the link above. Your post this week needs to explain how the movie Fried Green Tomatoes connects to that information. Your post will not immediately show up below; they will all require my approval. This is to ensure you do your own work. Pairing classic literature with contemporary, having some choice in the novels you read, and discussing books in literature circles are new to you this year in College Bound English. Have you enjoyed your experiences this year? Why or why not? Do you like to read new things this way, or do you prefer when everyone in class reads the same thing together? Is there anything you would have liked to have seen done differently? Which novel did you enjoy the most? Why? Respond with at least 100 words, answering every part of the prompt. You need only respond to me.
For your forum this week, you need to send me (only me) an email. Please put "Forum 5" in the subject line of your email. You must answer all of the following in your email (feel free to copy and paste):
1. What did you contribute to your project? Be specific. Which poems did you find and/or write paragraphs for? Which or How many articles did you write the annotations for? How much of the essay did you personally write? Be as specific as you can. 2. What did your partner contribute to the project? Be specific. 3. What percentage of the work do you feel you did? 4. What percentage of the work did your partner do? 5. What overall grade would you give your project? 6. What grade would you give yourself? 7. What grade would you give your partner? The letters tion are very common at the end of English nouns. Here are just a few: station, nation, anticipation, flirtation, vacation, combination, regurgitation--you get the idea. Write a four-line poem in which each line ends in a tion word. Have some fun with this one!!
Discuss your initial ideas about poetry...yes, you can be honest! How was Bill Watterson's poem on parents different from your ideas about poetry? Of the poems we have read and/or discussed in class, which was your favorite? Which was your least favorite? What did you react to? Were there any elements that you found confusing? Explain yourself thoroughly. Your response needs to be at least 100 words, and you need only respond to me.
For your post this week, you need to find a stanza of poetry that is written primarily in anapestic feet. It does not matter how long the lines are, only that they are written in anapestic feet. Copy and paste the stanza into your reply for full credit. You cannot use any poem that has already been posted by anyone else in your class. There is not discussion required for this post; however, if you choose the same stanza as anyone else, you will receive zero credit. There is plenty of poetry for everyone to choose from.
Search the web for a poem of your choosing. Copy and paste the poem as part of your reply. Then explain why you chose it. What did you like about it? What aspect of it spoke to you? Your response (not including the poem itself) needs to be at least 100 words, and no poem can be used/posted more than once.
