We've spend the last week working on Academic Resumes and Scholarship essays. What have you discovered about yourself during this process? Are you more or less prepared for your future than you thought? Explain. Your response must be at least 100 words, and you only need to respond to me.

I have learned how to become a better writer when writing an essay for a scholarship and have become less afraid of the dangers out there in the world. I feel like by writing these essay for my scholarships will prepare me for the big world ahead. It also gets me to think outside the box on life and knowing that not everything will be handed to you and after high school nothing is free anymore. Personally I've learned to express myself and not be afraid to speak about my personal life.

During this past week I have realized how unprepared I am for next year. Also I am realizing that the real world is coming up really very soon and that my life starts in less than a year. This also made me realize how difficult or easy getting scholarships, and getting accepted may be. However I do know that if you focus on what your doing anything is possible and nothing can hold you back.

I'm definitely excited for the future, although it seems like a lot of responsibility. I have a majority of my future plans set, but the only thing thats slowing things down, is money. Which isn't really uncommon. Besides the money issue, I'd say Im very prepared for college after graduation. I'd say I'm mentally prepared to go out and do my own thing. I like the idea of responsibility, and doing things on my own at my own pace. The scholarships have really helped me open up about myself to other people and feel more comfortable.

During the process of writing essays for scholarships and preparing my resume it has cemented in my descion to go into the Navy. While I have enjoyed my time in school and McPherson it is time for this bird to fly the coop. I am prepared and a little nervous about the future but I'm also excited and ready for the adventure that is life after high school.

While writing these essays, I’ve realized how much academically and how little extracurricularly I’ve done in my high school life. I have, and continue, to focus more on school and work than I do on other activities, such as sports, which I don’t see as a bad thing. Futurewise, I found that I am more ready, and have a better idea of what I need to do to live on my own after school, than I thought I was. I’ve been looking into online colleges as well as places in and around town that are open to rent or buy.

I have been thinking about my future for a long time now. Then I realized of how unprepared I actually am. Writing an essay isn't that hard for me, but it's a bit more intimidating when you're doing it for a scholarship. I've discovered I need to find out more information about life after high school, and how I can mentally and physically prepare for college. It also makes me want to work harder so I can try for more scholarships with a bigger chance of me getting one. It's actually kind of weird typing about something so personal to you on an essay.

This past week I've learned how to write a scholarship essay, because to be honest I had no idea how to. But I also learned that I am almost completely prepared for college because I know what I want to do and where I want to go. But I also learned that I need to get my stuff together and realize that college is coming faster than I thought and I need to start applying to schools and applying for scholarships. But for the most part I am ready to take on my freshman year of college and I couldn't be more excited to see what my future holds for me.

I'm not really sure if I am prepared for the future. I am definitely excited for growing up and experiencing life and what it has to offer, but I am also scared of falling flat on my face. I've got a game plan and I plan to stick by it. Money it my biggest concern, paying for college will require a new job and a lot more hours but it'll be worth it to get my education and head out into the world. This project has made me realize that the real world is coming closer and closer and i need to start prepping my self has quickly has I can so I can be ready for it.

I've found out that I am a very forgetful person. While working on the resume I have found that my mom remembers more of my achievements than I do. I have also found out that I am very unprepared. There are so many missed opportunities that I passed by that could have been on it. As far as the essays go something I already knew about myself but just reinforced is the fact that I am terrible at writing essays. I've also come to find that life is much less stressful if you work ahead. Then you can relax and not worry about getting stuff in on time.

This week I have realized a lot while making my resume and writing an essay for scholarships. Writing the essay made me realize I really need to decide on where I want to go for college. I've been wishing for senior year to come and now that it's here I feel like it came too fast. While making my resume I noticed that I really wasn't involved in many activities after freshman year. Looking back they were really fun and kept me occupied. Having a job made it hard to be involved but I know for sure if i hadn't started working I would definitely love to be in more activities. Plus, they look good on a resume!

I discovered that for the most part I am prepared for the future, however I was not aware at how stressful applying for scholarships is. I feel like am ready for college, but I need to focus on all the others things that need to happen before I can go. I also realized how much I have contributed to the community, as well as how many activities I have been involved in during high school. Working on both of these has made me realize that senior year is going to go by fast, and I need to make sure that I have all my ducks in a row before I leave for college. I've learned that I get stressed easily, and need to work on dealing with that stress.

During this past week, I have learned how much the past affects our future. Going on to college is expected from our society, so before writing this essay, I had never thought about why I wanted to go, or if I even wanted to. Writing my scholarship essay helped me become more comfortable talking about myself and my problems. I learned how to balance a scholarship essay, making sure the reasons for wanting a good future isn’t recognized less than the importance of education. College preparation is very difficult to describe. I feel ready for a change, and can’t wait to make the most of the experience, but it’s also intimidating to be leaving home and being on my own.

Before this past week I did not know how early all of this college stuff had to be turned in. Now that I know it is a little scary I won't lie, but its also really exciting in a way. I am about where I thought I would be by this point in the year I know the place I wanna go and I know how much it is gonna cost. The one thing I do not know is if I am accepted or not. Having help with my essays is gonna improve my chances.

In this past week, I have learned that my future starts in a year. I have dreamt my whole life about going to college to become a nurse. I never thought about everything it takes to actually start the college process. From doing my academic resume and scholarship essays I've learned that I was living in a fairytale with how easy I thought it was to get into college. From where I am at the moment, I kind of overwhelmed with everything it takes

This past week I have learned that the process of applying for schools and scholarships is going to be long and stressful. However, it is a lot less painful than I was imagining it to be. For the past two years I've been freaking out a whole lot more than I actually needed to. I don't think I'm any more or less prepared than I thought I was. I'm about exactly where I expected myself to be. I have discovered that I should have taken more initiative my last three years of high school, but I'm doing all I can this year to give me that extra push.

As I have been working on my resume and scholarship essays, I have to remind myself not to panic! The reality that I will be in college next year is real. Because I am opting to participate in a collegiate sport, many choices are out of my hand during this process. I wish my decisions were already made and I already had my acceptance letter in hand. I can't because of my desire to swim. I feel that I am within a reasonable time frame, still with official visits this fall. I am hoping I will find the best fit for me. The assignment in class helped me to organize my activities and resume. It has also forced me to keep me on track to scheduling my visits this fall. I am looking forward to meeting with several coaches to hear where I can fit into their program. My goal is to make my decision by second semester so I can enjoy my last semester of high school while I begin to prepare for college.

During this last week of writing my resume and my essays, made me put a lot of thought into what I want to do with the next four years of my life. I still have not made up my mind on where I want to attend college. I have several options to consider already. My plan is to continue to follow my dream of playing basketball in college. Writing out my resume has made me realize I need to be looking at more schools. This has shown me that I need to focus on planning my future out the way I envision it to be.

I've learned that I've actually overcome so much from my past that I never thought was important to me now. I've also learned how to really think about what I've done through high school and how to put it into a resume at a page long. I've learned how to not stress over a little essay that could cost me a scholarship to the college of my dreams. Also you should always always look into colleges the first day of freshmen year and never procrastinate about it.
