What connections can you already see between your contemporary novel and Dante's Inferno? Do you see a common theme? Is there an obvious circle for your characters? Any other connections, etc.? Explain your answer in at least 100 words. You need only respond to me.

I am reading Girl of Nightmares, and I've actually seen the word hell quite a lot in the book so far. Cas is concerned that Anna is in hell. When he gets the chance to do a spell and connect with her, Anna tells him that she is, in fact in hell. This is extremely bothering to Cas. The book of what I have read revolves around hell, and if it is even possible to get her out. I'm not sure which circle of hell I would put Cas. Cas kind of just does his own thing. And Anna died suddenly being murdered.

In the Inferno the whole plot is based of Dante's trilogy of his ascent to heaven. You don't go a single chapter without a direct reference to Dante's Inferno. In fact there are several direct quotes from Dante's Inferno in Dan Brown's Inferno Most the characters in this book I think would belong in the lower circles of hell.

I am reading the book Something Like Normal. The common theme that I see between Dante in Inferno and Travis in Something Like Normal is that they both are fighting for what they believe in and are both going through their own personal hell. They both have struggles in their lives that they have to overcome and they both have to talk to and be around people that they do not necessarily want to be around and talk to. The only circles that I see in Something Like Normal are the circles of people, or cliches, that Travis talks to.

I am reading Dan Brown's Inferno, this whole entire book is based on Dante's Inferno. I personally think that our book is like the Inferno in that the main characters, Langdon and Sienna, are like Virgil and Dante are related. In both books these characters are on a "mission" and travel together to find their way. This book also goes into detail of the circles of Dante's Hell. It looks at the Mappa dell' Inferno, and vividly describes the scenes that are taking place. It's awesome. This book also ties a lot into Italian art and literature from Dante's time. It gives background for what was taking place during the time it was written, why he wrote it, and how it influenced the future. All of the historical facts in this book are true, which makes it even more interesting to read.

I'm reading the Girl of Nightmares and I can see some connections with Dante's Inferno. Has an evil sprit and she goes and destroys everyone. She is like Satan she has opened her gates to hell and is ready for more action and she will get it. And for Cas he sees Satan (Anna) everywhere he goes and can't get her out of site. But Anna did save Cas at one point when Cas was dying from Anna actually going crazy, now its time for Cas to repay the favor.

I'm reading Something Like Normal and I don't really see any connections besides the fact that the main character, Travis, went to war which is pretty much hell. He describes his experiences and always talks about his best friend Charlie that died while they were in Afghanistan. Not only was it hell when he was there, but even more when he got home because he couldn't sleep without having awful nightmares. And to top it all off, his life at his house sucks too. His family is falling apart.

I am reading Something Like Normal. The similarities between Something Like Normal and Dante's Inferno are mostly found while Travis is having a flashback or seeing his deceased friend Charlie. The way Afghanistan is described (and the way it mostly likely is in real life) seems like Hell on it's own. Travis could fit into a few circles of hell. He could be in Circle 2 because of his lustfulness with Paige, but he would most likely be sent to Circle 7 for violence, even though he isn't proud of having to murder.

I am reading Something Like Normal and Travis is the main character. He has gone through hell you could say by what he has experienced while he was in Afghanistan. He is still going through hell by what he imagines in his head throughout the day, and the nightmares he constantly has during the night. Travis ends up sleeping with his ex-girlfriend, Paige who is his brother Ryan's girlfriend. It was wrong for him to go ahead and do what he did but also wrong for Paige to move on to Travis's brother. I see this level of hell being circle two.

I am reading Something Like Normal. Travis, the main character of this book, is struggling with his return home from Afghanistan. He has nightmares that make him dangerous to others if they startle him, and he keeps seeing his deceased friend who died in battle. In comparison to Dante’s Inferno, both main characters had to go through traumatic experiences. However, Travis has to deal with the side effects of being a marine everyday.

Well in my book the main character is already pretty much going through hell himself. He often see's flashbacks of the war he was in and is always frightened about seeing his buddy charlie (who died during the war) walking around haunting his dreams. I think that hes already experienced a lot of pain and knows a lot of suffering. I think of all the places he would be put in the circles of hell is in circle 2, due to his lust with Paige on an almost daily basis.

I am currently reading "Something Like Normal". The main character, Travis, in this book could be compared to Dante in "Dante's Inferno" in that they both experience "hell". While Dante is the book actually travels physically through the various circles of hell, Travis lives through various circles psychologically. Travis must deal with the horrible experience of war and the after effect of nightmares. In addition to his war experience and his nightmares, he struggles with a war within himself with the affair with Paige. This affair creates more turmoil within himself and ultimately with others. Both books follow a main character's journey through a trying, difficult experience, a "hell".

In Girl of nightmares the big thing that resembles to the inferno is that there is a demon girl and in the inferno there is a lot of demons i also think the some of the word usage is the same like the way they describe thing and inferno is a trip through hell and so is girl of nightmare all these kids are in a living version of hell. I am not quit sure what level of hell to put Anna in yet but it has to be low.

I am reading the books Something Like Normal. Multipul characters in this book could be compared to Dantes Inferno. The most relivent of them being the main character Travis being a lot alike Dante. Travis comes back from the war and explores things to find that the place he now lives in is similar to the hell Dange explores. Travis' brother and girlfriend are both cheaters therefore should be placed in with all the lustful people in circle 2.

Something like normal shows a lot of things portrayed in the book Dantes inferno. The levels of sin are being displayed in this book from lust, fraud and anger. It's kind of hard to blame the main character travis for some of his actions but for some of the others it's blatently on him. There was one occasion travis took a female "paige" down and held a knife to her neck, internally his heart wasn't telling him to do this, it was his monstrous past that brought him to do this in the dark not realizing what had happened. It's definetly not right in any way but was his heart really at blame like some of the hearts at blame for violence in dantes inferno?
