What is your first impression of the book you've chosen for your final project? What is your impression of the project, itself? What will you need to do to be successful? Your response needs to be at least 100 words, and you only need to respond to me.

I am reading Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. I haven't even read fifty pages but I love it. The story is very heart breaking, but the book is very well written. I was at first overwhelmed when we were first handed the project sheet, but after we have gone through it, I feel better about it. It is a lot of work, but none of it is hard work. To be successful, I will do all the work that was given, and follow all of the directions, and if I do everything right then I should be happy with the grade I will receive.

I am reading Son Of a Gun by Anne De Graaf. I have not read very far into it but so far its been pretty good. The book so far has been packed full of action and really has not been to hard to read except for the names. As for the the project I do not think it will be to hard to do. I do not really want to present something in front of the class but I will because it will be an easy A.

I’m reading the rules of survival by Nancy Werlin and I’m already almost finished with it. I didn’t actually think that I’d get into it as much as I have. “Just another book about a worthless mom and her kids having to live with the consequences.” Well, I was kind of right. This book has already made me cry and actually feel for these kids. Nikki is completely off her rocker and I am actually excited to see how everything is playing out as these other adults in their lives are actually helping the children get away from her.

The book I got is called Looking for Alaska by John Green. Other books he's written were what made me expect this book to be witty and sweet, and that's just what it was. I like the idea of this project because we essentially know what grade we're going to get before it's given to us as long as we provide enough quality. It's also nice to have so many different options given to us without being required to come up with our own project ideas. I know that for his project i'm really going to have to watch myself because I tend to procrastinate.

My first impression of the book was that it seemed a little different than what I usually read. I am enjoying it, but am having a little trouble getting into it. The project doesn't seem too bad, I've got all the steps planned out and know what I want to do from list A and B. I just need to stay focused and keep to it and I should be fine. This is the first project in a long time that I don't dread and that, in itself, is going to help me keep going to make it to the end.

I am reading "Food, Girls, and Other Things I Can't Have" by Allen Zadoff. My very first impression was, wow this is going to be a slightly dumb book honestly. As I have continued reading, I am finding that it is really interesting and it involves a high school setting somewhat similar to McPherson High. I really like this project as well, it gives each of us freedom and we can make progress as we want to just as a college class will be. I would like to receive an A on this project, because why not finish strong?

I am reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It is nonfiction, so it is not fast-paced. Nonetheless, it has been extremely interesting so far. The final project is similar to the project Pre AP classes did while reading Julius Caesar sophomore year. I enjoyed the project then, so I expect I will like this assignment as well. The most difficult part will be spacing the work out and not procrastinating.

My first impression is very interesting because my book title is The Earth, My Butt and Other Round Things. I think the project is very easy. If you put in effort you should be able to succeed very well in this project. I don't think I should have a problem succeeding in this project. I think I will just have to do my work and I should be able to succeed successfully.

When I got this book I thought it would be pretty bad and I was right so far. The title was pretty weird and I thought it might be weird but I think I just haven't gotten to the good part yet. The beginning has been really slow but I'm only on the third chapter. The plot sounds really interesting though so I think it will get better. The title and the cover is kind of weird but I think it will get good as I read on.

I am reading Unwholly by Neal Shusterman. It is the second book of the Unwind trilogy and I liked the first book and so far like the second book. When I first heard of the project I was freaked out, because last year I did very poorly on the book projects last year. But this seems way easier than last years projects. To be successful in this project I will need to start early and not procrastinate like usual.

I am reading Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. I have read Speak by the same author and I enjoyed it so I figured I would like this one as well. It is a very quick read which I like. It's kind of a depressing book to be honest but it's definitely good. I find it interesting that the book is written as though you're in the character's mind. I actually enjoy projects like these where we can pick and choose what we want to do. It'll definitely be difficult managing my time and not putting it off until the last minute.
