At this point, you have completed your "virtual tour" of Dante's Inferno. Describe several elements that stood out to you during your tour. What are you most looking forward to as we begin our descent into Hell? Respond with at least 100 words. You need only respond to me.

I am most interested in the description Dante has to offer about the levels of Hell. One element that especially stood out was the contrapasso and how it was the ironic consequence for actions. I just find that interesting and somehow it helps me to relate it back to the saying, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." Another element was the different creatures that are described briefly in the virtual tour. The giants seem quite cool, although I am not exactly sure whether what they do is cool or not. I am just looking forward to the story as a whole, due to the fact that I have no idea what to think at this moment in time.

The thing that stood out to me was how in detail he was with the descriptions of the torture and punishments. Like in the third circle of the last layer where the sinners are half frozen in ice and there tears freeze their eyes shut. I think it will be interesting to start this book to see how his version of hell differs from mine

The thing that really stood out to me was how well Dante did describing what he saw as he traveled through hell. When you asked us Monday to describe hell it was hard because obviously nobody has lived to tell of what hell looks like and Dante did just an exquisite job in his description. I would say the thing Im looking forward to is learning what the different levels are and what they mean.

The biggest thing that stood out to me during the virtual tour of Dante's Inferno was the irony of the punishments. The punishments themselves seem very random, like the punishment for lust of being blown back and forth in a storm for all of eternity. Once it tells you how the punishment ties into the sin though it's easier to make the connection. The punishments are all extremely creative but they remain tied to the sin in a way that makes sense. Another thing that stood out was how much information was taken from Greek mythology and the way that Dante is able to tie these characters into the story. I'm most excited about learning how the punishments relate to the sins in more detail because that's what I found most interesting about the tour.

As I went through the virtual tour, it was surprising how unique each of the punishments are. Not everyone simply "burns in hell". Instead, Dante thought out intricate torments fitting to each sin. It was also interesting to see how many times Dante referenced mythology and ancient literature. I am looking forward to finding the connections and differences between Dante's depiction of Hell and the versions portrayed in modern pop culture and religion. It will also be an interesting glimpse into how modern and medieval interpretations of the sins themselves have varied.

The part that stood out the most to me was how the aminals in the Dark Wood of Terror all represent something. To me this is unusual because when most of us think about those animals we don't typically think that they would mean violence, incontinence, and fraud. Another thing that stood out to me was that not everyine who goes to hell is tourtured like we grow up thinking. I'm ready to start reading the book just to seee how the descriptions in the book differ from how im picturing things.

The thing that stood out to me the most was that for every sin there is a punishment that goes with the sin the they committed. For example in the second circle, the circle of lust, their punishment is being violently blown around by strong winds. In the fourth circle, the circle of greed they are punished by having weights on their chests. The thing that I am going to look forward the most about 'our decent into hell' would be seeing what Dante's perspective on hell is, and how all of the different punishments fit with the sins the people committed.

While going through the virtual tour, I found that a lot of things stood out to me. Dante's version of hell is far different from the way I had imagined it. I find it interesting that there are different circles in hell and within each circle contains different kinds of sinners. Rather than "burning in hell", the sinners are given a punishment fitting to their sin they committed. I enjoyed reading about the prophesies and how they tried reading into the future and their contrapasso was having their heads turned around. I am looking forward to reading Dante's Inferno because I think it'll be quite interesting to piece together his outlook on hell with religion, mythology and other pieces of literature.

I'm most looking forward to reading more in depth of the punishments of each circle of hell. Some seem very random and weird while others seem very appropriate and fitting. The punishment for lust seems very off the beaten path but the punishment for greed seems relevant. I also like seeing how many religions pull their views from Dante and how Dante's outlook is brought to Greek mythology. I'm excited to start reading this and looking into Dante's view on hell. I believe everyone has their own perspective on it and I'm thrilled to see others views.

I am looking forward to understanding the different levels of hell and learning and understanding all the different punishments. I also want to see what Dante's version of hell looks like versus mine. While going through all the different circles of hell, the elements that stood out to me is that each different sin has a distinct punishment and location in hell. This is interesting because each sinner has a punishment related to the sin they committed. One punishment that stood out to me is the giants. I couldn't see giants being in hell.

While going through the the virtual tour many things about Dantes Inferno stood out to me. I would like to see what Dantes complete version of hell is compared to the average person vision of hell. I am also interested in learning more about the contropasso of each level. It's interesting how each level of sinners has their own unique punishment for the sin they have committed. I am looking forward to learning a lot more about Dantes version of hell.

I am very interested in the different levels of Hell and the punishments. What stood out to me was the irony of the punishments and how they are used so well to torture the one in Hell. What also stood out to me was how worse and worse it got as you descend farther down and finally reaching the bottom. I am looking forward to learning more about why Dante is there and his descriptions of all the levels.

I think that it was interesting seeing what he thinks the punishments would look like in each circle of hell. It was also interesting that it's not just hot but in the last circle it was cold with ice and he relates cold with having no love and everything that goes with circle 9.
