The song I chose is This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco. There song lyrics mean a lot to me because they pretty much describe a situation that I went through myself. My favorite lyric is "If you love me let me go." It reminds me of the phrase if you love something set it free. The song is talking about someone in a coma who wants to be let go so they can die. They are ready to go but the speaker's family isn't ready to say goodbye yet. This is like the embodiment of the pharse above and I think it is beautiful.

The song I chose to interpret is “Dumb” by Nirvana. I am a huge fan of Nirvana and this is my favorite song by them. I feel like it describes me as a person. I see the lyrics as a man trying to feel comfortable with being happy, but at the same time his bleak view on life stands in his way of being truly happy. I have had some dark periods of time in my life and so far it has kept me from feeling comfortable in most situations. Kurt Cobain’s lyrics in this song stand out to me because of how much they pertain to the way I feel.

The song I picked was Ex To See by Sam Hunt. The song is all about a girl using a guy to make her ex jealous, but the guy catches on and just goes with it. Something I think is neat about the song is that the words "ex to see" in the song sounds like ecstasy. I picked this song because the song kind of describes how people are now, they use other people to make their ex jealous, or someone just wants your "ecstasy".

I chose the lyrics not only because it is one of my favorite songs ever, but I also really enjoy the tune. After analyzing the lyrics, there are two line rhymes, like the first line of the song rhymes with the second line of the song. There was one line in the lyrics “ Don’t bet your future on one roll of the dice”, which stood out to me because it’s basically saying don’t let one thing in your life rule your entire life. I was surprised by the fact that a song that was made for Back to the Future had a line with such a deep meaning.

I chose the song Imagine by John Lennon. I chose this specific song, because it really has a great meaning to it. This song talks about how this world is imagined as something to be so perfect but in reality, they are all just imagining this world. All of them are dreamers in their own little world. The think that stood out to me, was that it was saying how everybody is a dreamer and how it's all good that the world isn't perfect. The thing that surprised me, is how the singer sang about heaven and different religions and how nothing is perfect... Perfect doesn't even exist is a world. Everybody has mistakes and it's alright to not be absolutely perfect.

The song I chose was, Happy Birthday. these song lyrics mean a lot to me because they will always be a part of my life every year on march 8th. What surprised me and what also stood out to me was that there are more lyrics than what everyone sings to. It says," How old are you?''," How old are you?''," How old are you?''," How old are you?''And to think that everyone I know sings the song and its missing half of the song. There is also an alternative ending that says, From good friends and true, from old friends and new, may good luck go with you, and happiness too. This is surprising to me because i have never heard this before.

The song i chose was Nobody by Lil Snupe. The song lyrics mean a lot that he has made it out of a bad situation and make it bigger and is doing music for his mom and dad. What had surprised me was how this song can mean so much that have had people like him in the same situation he was in and they can relate

The song that I chose was See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. This song is meaningful to me because it is about missing a loved one that has passed away. The first time I heard this song was in the movie Fast and Furious 7. Since I knew exactly who the song was for in the movie it almost brought me to tears. The part that stands out to me is the part when it is saying "i'll tell you all about it when I see you again". This stands out because it shows that he has more that he wants to share with the one he misses. Nothing really surprised me because this song really fits with any situation of missing someone that you have lost.

I chose the song "Como La Flor" by Selena Quintanilla. The reason why I chose this song is because I grew up listening to her all my life since the first time I heard her on the radio. This song in particular is my favorite because I feel like I can relate to it. It's in spanish but, I feel that I can analyze it pretty well. It's called "Como La Flor", meaning " Like the flower". In her song she expresses her self & compares what she's feeling with a flower. A gardener gives their garden love by watering them. Well Selena compares herself by saying that she is a flower who had so much love by her man. Like a flower, it eventually dies because you don't water it no more. Selena's love with her man isn't there anymore, because she knows that he has another woman. That is where she compares herself to a flower because it dies. In her song she says how much it hurts her going through all that pain, but she knows how to lose and walk away. What stood out to me the most is the song itself, its different. Nothing suprises me because it these sort of things happen in real life.

The song I chose was This Land is your Land by Woody Guthrie. The reason I chose this was because I would always listen to it in church when I was younger, and it just brings good memories to me. Something that stood out to me that I didn't really pay attention to as a kid was how this guy is exploring all around and comes across a sign that says "private property" but on the back it didn't say anything so he kept on going, saying this land was made for you and me. Something that surprised me was how I kind of missed the meaning of the song as a kid, I would just sing along because it was catchy.

The song that I chose was "weekend" by Mac Miller because it talks about just having an all around good time. Which to me is very relatable but at the same time he talks about getting to know a girl but by the end of the week he is talking to someone new, which also is sorta' relatable to me. One thing I do not relate to in this song is the part where he says he will be good by the weekend because I personally think I am always good but all in all this song is very relatable to say the least, I think for almost any high-schooler to be honest.

I chose Drops In The Ocean by Hawk Nelson. There is a lot of meaning in the lyrics. You can learn a lot when you really listen to the lyrics. It’s about God forgiving you more times than the number of drops in the ocean. One line that stood out to me is, “Come as you are not as you ought to be.” You don’t have to be perfect for Him to love you and accept you. He wants you to come just as you are.

I chose this song because it’s one of my favorite songs and growing up I listened to it. The lyrics describe that a guy can have a girlfriend and be a gentlemen and do stuff for her but when it comes down to it we are still guys and we like doing guy things like hunting, fishing, mudding and whatever else you can think of. I think this song has great imagery. One example is when it says,” When you see a deer you see bambi, I see antlers up on the wall”. That’s exactly what I think of when I see a deer.

I chose the song simple man by lynyrd skynyrd. I chose this song because it's one of my favorite songs ever written. I love the message it sends and the story it tells. I think the message this song sends is something everyone can relate too. Lynyrd skynyrd is also one of my favorite bands. The band has a crazy story and they were very talented.

The song that I chose is On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons. I really like this song because it's really up-beat and kind of puts you in a good mood and repeatedly says "get up, get up". What surprises me is that not a lot of songs are like this one because modern pop type of music are mostly just about romance and about their x-boyfriend/girlfriend. This song is inspirational and speaks to every person, not just a stupid story about his girlfriend. So that's kind of what stands out to me from this song.

The song I chose to analyze was Opportunity cost by G-Eazy. This song has always stood out to me because it is one of his songs that kind of dives into some of the self doubts he has instead of just being about money and women like most rappers. It's cool to me because he talks a lot about not to be scared of going for anything as long as you know what you might lose. But even if you get what you want and everything and don't think you'll lose anything. You'll always be jealous of the other side and wonder if you made the right decision. It is just the cost of having to make decisions in the first place. It is especially cool to me because a lot of people don't even listen to the words.

The song I chose was Buried Alive by Logic. I chose these particular lyrics because of the more underlying meaning that they have to them. Rather than rapping about sex, drugs, and money, it's about his self doubts, and how he is struggling to achieve what he wants, and the pressure that he feels from himself and his fans. After analyzing the lyrics as poetry it stood out to me that through the hook, there is a clear pattern, but through out the rest of the poem it is fairly free form. There is a pattern in the way that there are 3 feet per line most of the time, but the accented syllables are often varied to fit the unusual beat.

The song I chose for this assignment was "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice. This song has no personal connection to me I just think it's a fun song. I chose this song because I like it, but because it's a classic and everybody knows it. The song is basically talking about how great of a rapper he it. What stood out to me after I printed the lyrics was the rhyme theme. The rhyme them for Ice Ice Baby is a a b b c c, so every 2 lines of the lyrics rhyme.

The song I chose was Sunday Morning by Maroon 5. I chose this song be it is my favorite song and it is easy to sing along with. After analyzing the song it gave me a better view of the rhyme scheme. It went a b c b d d d e e e f e and then it basically repeated itself for the rest of the song. So the ends didn't start rhyming until about 5 lines deep there is 4 in a row and then 3 in a row. I think this helps the song flow a little more in the main part of the song. It doesn't really surprise me because I know the song pretty well.
