I enjoy poetry. I liked doing the poem project because I write in my free time so it’s something I can relate to. I have a very broad view on poetry. I consider songs, books, or even things that people say a form of poetry. When I write my lyrics, I look at them as poems until I put music to the words. I’m looking forward to us doing more poetry related things in class because it’s a fun thing for me to do. I don’t really enjoy learning all the confusing terms, but I’ll get used to them eventually. Poetry is tight.

It can be interesting sometimes. But for the most part it doesn't interest me in the slightest. I opinion is still the same as before. Can you explain it a little more when you say it's "going forward". I mean it has gone a long way since medieval times. But depending on your view point it could've also gone backwards.

My first impressions of poetry, are that they are very interesting and they were way better than what I was expecting. I thought poetry was going to be hard, but it really wasn't hard to understand and read. My ideas before we started poetry, were that it was confusing on how to read some of them and why this goes there and that goes in another spot. Poetry for me, can get a bit confusing at times when you break it down and try to understand what you are reading. How I feel about it going forward, is that I really might just enjoy it. I don't really understand how to put the marks above the words, but I'll get it down sooner or later.

Poetry is a hit and miss with me. There are different types of poetry that I like but some of them just don’t make any sense to me. Sometimes I can really like poetry, for example the poem that I picked to show to the class was a poem I really like. It will definitely be tough for me because I’ve never really been into poetry. It will be nice to learn though because it could possibly be something I will enjoy. Poems that I can relate to or even understand are usually my favorite just because I can actually understand what it is saying.

My first impressions of poetry was really that it didn't make any sense to me. I was very confused about it and wasn't sure how to write/read it. I had no idea that there are so many terms for it and I also didn't know that you could make anything up and use it in your poem! Searching for poems really helped me get to know them better. Now that we have started to decipher them, and break them down, I have gotten more knowledge on how to write/read them. I feel that we should keep going forward with poetry, only because I have such small knowledge about it.

My first impression on poetry is that it is an enjoyable subject. I like how some poems can reflect my life perfectly. There are so many different kinds of poems out there to see that it is just neat to be able to view all the different poems out there. Before we started this poetry topic I thought that I was not going to enjoy it. I am excited to move forward on this subject and hopefully understand all the terms that we have begun learning. By the end of this poetry subject I hope to understand the concept and all of the terms that we have began learning.

I wouldn’t read poetry in my free time, and I’ve read the Odyssey about 4 times after the second time you’ve read it it starts to get boring. But I like it to a certain extent. I wouldn’t want to write a poem because I wouldn’t be able to hold on to one idea long enough, I would probably keep changing my mind or wouldn’t follow the patterns. I think following the patterns is a little bit too much for me. But it is kind of interesting when you find a poem that really stands out to you and sounds like it was written about you.

I kind of like poetry but its hard for me to read into the secret meaning behind it. I enjoy more literal readings. Poetry is better than I was expecting it to be. I was expecting it all to be boring and make no sense. I see now that not all poetry is boring and it's actually interesting if you know how to find the meaning behind it.

My first impression of poetry was that I wouldn't like it, but as I looked into it more I realized that their is a deeper meaning to it and I started to feel it. I'm looking forward to doing some poetry in here, just not taking the test. I think i'm creative enough to come up with a fire poem and I might just look into that.

Before we started looking more into poetry, I didn't think it would be that fun. But as we started I realized there was a lot more to poetry than just rhyme. That's all I thought when I here the word poetry. There is all kinds of different poems and poetic foots. There is some poetry that doesn't interest me at all and some that does. Identifying the rhythm and meter in sentences is still a little difficult for me. But I am looking forward to learning more about poetry.

My First ever impression of poetry was good. When I was a little kid my mom or dad would read me books that I didn’t know was poetry. In 8th grade was my real first poetry experience with Mrs. Loganbill at the middle school. I hated every second of it and never wanted anything to do with it again. Now I think that poetry isn’t that bad. Depends on the day, it’s a hit or miss type of thing. I would rather not go forward with poetry but I think that if I find a good author that writes about stuff that I’m interested in and it won’t be that ba

Honestly I really don't know what to think about poetry but I really like it, because of how it shows my inner self because I really suck at writing but just some of the great poets like Dr. Seuss because I just think that green eggs and ham has a much deeper meaning that just the fact of green eggs but I guess that is a personally opinion.

My first impression of poetry was mostly that it was fun to read. My first impression being when I was a little kid and would read the basic poems where they mostly just rhymed. I still like poetry, each one has something to say important to the world and the person who wrote it. It's more than just the rhyming of poem. Presenting our poems to class was a good idea because it proved what they meant and what they meant to the person.

My first impression of poetry was that I don't hate it but I don't love it either. There are some poetry that I really like, and others that I don't like. I like song lyrics because it goes with music you can listen to and the music makes the poetry sound much more deeper. continuing into poetry will be alright.

My very first impression of poetry was not that exciting until I actually took the time in class to understand one. It's pretty awesome for the most part. I like how authors express their feelings and emotions in a whole new level. It's kind of cool because it can either rhyme or not. I enjoyed doing it in class as well because you got to express what that author was intended to say.

My first thoughts on poetry was I don't like it, but its not as bad as I thought it would be. I have always hated poetry units in other English classes, but so far this one has not been terrible. The only thing I really don't like about poetry is how hard it is. Reading it is no big deal but having to break it down is where it gets tricky. I like some poetry like Dr. Seuss because it's simple to read and fun because everything rhymes. Getting deeper into this poetry unit I know is going to get harder, but so far it's been interesting.

My first impression of poetry before this was in 8th grade when we had to write our own and that was pretty difficult for me, plus I got a bad grade on it. Also I think a couple years ago I had to write a haiku and I thought I did really good on it but I still didn't get a good grade on it. I really enjoy reading poetry because they give a lot of feeling and emotion in some of them and I can relate but others are funny and I like puns. I would like to learn more about it because I wish I could write some of my own for fun or at least try to. It does seem kind of difficult learning the parts. But I think once I become more familiar with the terms it will be easier to pick out and understand.
