Pairing classic literature with contemporary, having some choice in the novels you read, and discussing books in literature circles are new to you this year in College Bound English. Have you enjoyed your experiences this year? Why or why not? Do you like to read new things this way, or do you prefer when everyone in class reads the same thing together? Is there anything you would have liked to have seen done differently? Which novel did you enjoy the most? Why? Respond with at least 100 words, answering every part of the prompt. You need only respond to me.

I have enjoyed my experience in College Bound English this year. At first I didn't really know what to expect from it, because I was a junior in an all-senior class, but I have had fun during my time in the class. I like being able to select a novel to read. It really helps me adapt the class's curriculum to my own needs and standards and helps me to learn the concepts we are being taught. I think it's better than just being thrown into a book because that usually doesn't work out that well for me. Last year, I hated the Scarlet Letter. The novel I've enjoyed most this year is probably Legend, even though I'm not quite finished with it yet. I have breezed through it so far and will probably end up finishing it a long time before the deadline. I really like the post-apocalyptic, dystopian action novels like this.

I have truly enjoyed my experience in College Bound English this year. I like how we compare older books to newer ones and see the similarities. It goes to show that humans don’t change. They seek the same thrill and stories that are still told today. I enjoy getting to pick the book we read from a selection. It pressured me to read it when my group was depending on me to come prepared, and it gave me the sense of choice that I didn’t have when the class all read the same book. I wouldn’t do anything differently. I enjoyed (and actually read) all the books I got to choose this year. I like “Anna Dressed in Blood” but I think I like “Blood Red Road” much more. I haven’t finished it yet so we will have to see, but I really do like this book. It definitely grabs your attention and keeps it.

Yes, I have enjoyed this year. Because I get to chose (for the most part) what I get to read. I prefer it this way. If we did it the other way then you probably would've had us "popcorn" read. I wish that the novels we got weren't so old. Such as the canterberry tales. I enjoyed the current one i'm reading. Which is called Unwound. I like it because it is in "new" english not "old".

I like reading in small groups. Having more flexibility and support with projects and understanding passages that you may not understand is helpful. Also that with smaller groups you have more options with book choice. This year I enjoyed Anna Dressed In Blood. The books that I have enjoyed the most would be The Road. Which does have criticisms of being slow and boring, but I think that made the book even more realistic and exciting when action did come around. Also I would have to choose going through Dante's Inferno. Going through the different levels and his journey was exciting and enjoyable to read.

I have enjoyed my experience in College Bound English this year. The novels I’ve read are good and I enjoyed having small groups and discussions. My favorite book this year is Blood Red Road. I’m currently reading it, and not finished yet but it’s one of those books you can’t put down, it’s so good. I wouldn’t change anything about this class. It’s been a great experience. One of my favorite projects we did was the senior memory books. It was fun for me to go through all the years of my life and reminisce. It’s also fun to have that memory book now so I can always remember senior year and other earlier years of my life.

I thought College Bound English was a very enjoyable class. I believe that reading in groups is much more beneficial than reading as an entire class. Students are more likely to engage in discussions in smaller groups than letting the talkative students of the class take up most of the time. Those select few who do not participate are more likely to depend on another classmate to catch them up with what they are ignoring. The book I enjoyed the most this school year was Inferno by Dan Brown. This story was hard to put down once you began reading. The suspense, adventure, and twists and turns surrounding Robert Langdon were very enjoyable to read.

I have really enjoyed my experience this year in College Bound English. I like choosing the novel that I want to read because I get to choose the ones that interest me the most and not getting stuck with some boring book that I didn't want to read about. I wouldn't have done anything differently, I especially liked the group discussions because if there was something that you did not quite get during the reading you could gather with your group and discuss it. By far the best book that I have read was Inferno. Although I did not finish all of the book, it was full of the action and wasn't just a boring reading, and was a lot more modern than Dante's Inferno, it actually made me want to read on.

I have really liked this class. I like that we have some freedom with what we want to read and the projects. I enjoy how the reading projects are set up because you get to choose from a list, but also the list of books are modern for the most part. I feel like by doing it this way everyone is more likely to read and enjoy the project rather than completely blowing it off. I haven’t finished legend yet but so far it’s my favorite because I really enjoy the action and mystery of it. It’s more than just about the basic test.

College Bound English has been an enjoyable class for me this last year. One of the best parts is being able to choose what you want to read (for the most part). I'm more inclined to read a book that I choose or that I like. The book I have enjoyed the most is the one I'm reading now. What I like about Unwind is that it is not going with the norm. As for reading books alone or with the class, Im on the fence. I like when everyone is talking about the same thing but I also wouldn't like some of the book choices.

I have truly enjoyed my experience in College Bound this year. I have never been a reader, but I have come to realize that reading is a little better than I thought. I enjoy being able to pick from a few choices when given and I feel like having others that chose the same book helps discussions because the book is something they wanted to read. I don't think that I would have done anything differently. I feel like we've had plenty of time to read our books and have in depth conversations about it. The discussions help clarify any questions we might have. My favorite novel by far was Blood Red Road (the one I'm reading now).
