The song that I chose was "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. I chose these lyrics because right when my grandfather and grandmother passed away this is the song that helped me get through it. I listened to it all the time with them and it never got old. Yes it does make me cry from time to time just because i think about them and I know that they are so happy together in heaven. What stands out to me as a whole is how this song just says to keep moving forward. Even if you are hurting inside. I love that it speaks to me every time I listen to it. It is like I am listening to it for the first time.

The song I chose, "Letters Home from the Garden of Stone" by Everlast. I chose this song because I have my doubts about the American Military. But I realize that it isn't the soldiers' fault. I understand that serving men are just doing their jobs and that their orders come from the government. That's where my mistrust lies.

I choose "No Role Models" by J Cole. J Cole is probably one of the only rappers that doesn't only talk about explicit things. His lyrics have meaning. The songs says "Fool me one time shame on you

I chose the song "When We Were Young" by Adele because I've always thought it was a beautiful song. Her song shows that even when you're older, you will miss the days when you were younger. I noticed that her tone changed after the song says "That's what you said when you left me". I like how you can feel all the emotion in this song.

I chose these "The Baseball Song," because this is one of my favorite songs. Baseball season is right around the corner and it will be here before I know it. I have listened to this song many many times and I have never seen the rhyme. It has an end rhyme for the three first verses, 4&8, and 5-7. This really gives it a smooth glide and really helps to bring a neat rhythm to the song. What surprised me most was the fact that there is no rhyme in the chorus, but there is in the rest of the song.

I chose the song "Vicarious" by Tool. I chose this song because it is one of my favorite songs by this band. The rhythm of the song and the lyrics are so much different than any other band, and that is what makes this band my favorite

I chose to do the song "The Boys Of Fall" by Kenney Chesney. I chose this song because it's a song that talks about football, and football is pretty much my life. I used to listen to this song a ton when it first came out. It came out awhile ago and I've probably listened to it at least 100 times. When I analyzed the lyrics I learned that there was a lot of end rhythm. I never knew there was any rhythm in this song listening to it. It surprised me that there was that much rhythm in it.

I chose the song " Stressed Out" by twenty one pilots. I chose this song because it talks about going back to the good ol' days of just being a kid and having no worries. Growing up comes with more responsibilities. It would be nice to always be a kid but we all have to grow up and be adults. There is some rhyming in the song.

I choose the song “come as you are” by Nirvana because it is one of my favorite bands and in my opinion one of their best songs. In the song itself the lyrics are very interesting yet simple at the same time. The rhythm of the song truly gives it an interesting spin with very little rhyme in the lyrics. They way the constructed the music itself gives the song its unique beat. In the lyrics it is also the exact opposite of what its says. An example of this is in the second of the verse when they say “take your time, hurry up”

I chose the song The Arsonist by Puscifer. I chose this song because the lyrics can speak to anyone. It's about social arsonists who burn their social bridges with everyone they meet by being hateful and damaging. I know people who were my friends, and relatives who relate directly to the lyrics in this song. Something that stood out to me was how the tone changes from being angry, to even more angry, to sad at the end. The song resembles these people's lives. They have been lashing out and criticizing people their entire lives, but when they're at the end of their lives they have no more hate left to give, and no one to give it to. They're left alone and sad.

I chose the song "Vicarious" by Tool. I like the song because you can take the lyrics from it and interpret it into your own meaning. Also the songwriter (Maynard James Keenan) puts so much emotion into his "poetry" as well, and that's another reason why i chose the song. The song is about how in every day society we will freak out over people dying and tragedy around the world, yet we will just sit there watching it all happen on t.v. instead of getting up and doing anything about it. "Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies, much better you than I.". This part stood out to me because it pretty much sums up the song and its meaning in one.

I chose the song See You Again by Wiz Khalifa. I chose this song because I really like it and it makes me realize that throughout life I will be moving on and leaving lots of people. I will always come back to see close friends and family and won't forget what we have been through together. What stood out to me was that they get to reunite with each other for a short period of time and they will hold on to every memory they have, even if moving on is the best option for them. I also feel like this song talks about death in a way, as if someone was getting ready to die or just died that was really close to them.

I chose the song "Terrible Things" by Mayday Parade. I choose this song because a friend introduced this to me last summer and I've liked it ever since. This song means a lot to me because I have experienced the same situation that the boy in this song is going through. The son is experiencing a parent die of cancer, and his father is telling him about his perfect mother that is leaving. This poem stands out to me because it is identical to my life. Learning about a parent that has died was so perfect and so innocent. You just never understand why life can do terrible things.

I chose "Oceans(Where Feet May Fail" by Hillsong United. I chose this song because this is the one out of many that speaks to me and it sends such a great message to any religious person who needs a few moments to remind themselves that they should and still have hope. Especially when I am in a rough patch. The biggest thing that stood out to me when analyzing the poem was that there is only two or three times where it rhymes throughout the whole song.

I choose “I Miss You” by Blink 182. I choose this song mainly because it’s probably the best song in history and a classic. This song is slightly somber yet remains slightly joyful in a juvenile way. When I analyzed it from a poetic standpoint I was slightly surprised. I was surprised because I expected to have more of a rhythm to the syllables and verses. I couldn’t identify a specific foot measurement used. When hearing the song I would assume it would keep a specific measurement. I still very much like this song and find it very interesting.

I chose Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Mustgraves. I picked that song because I personally think it pertains to everyone's life in some way. In her song she talks about how you might be screwed if you do something and you might be screwed if you don't do something so might as well do what you want. Basically saying don't do things to please people, do things to please yourself. Also just because you can't be something doesn't mean you should try to act like it. After analyzing the poem some of the words stood out to me more then when I was just singing along to them.

I chose the song “Anyway” by Martina McBride because she has always been one of my favorite singers. I also like the message this song gives which is don’t be scared to live life, just do it anyway. What stands out to me is that she uses different examples of what you should do anyway when life is rough. Another thing that stood out to me was that each stanza ends with the word anyway.

I chose the song lyrics that I did because it is one of my favorite songs. It had clearly distinguishable words and it had a meaning behind it. I was surprise at how the song had a clear meaning in its words. I was also surprised how there was a distinct pattern in the syllables as well. As soon as I was able to figure out the pattern in made sense how beat went with the song. The beat also changed whenever it went to the chorus. changing the meaning and beat of the song.
