In working through the H.O.D. passages using the Notation Directions, what have you noticed? What have the highlighting and notating allowed you to see that you wouldn't have noticed otherwise? Explain. In your opinion, what is the value of doing an activity like this? How do you foresee it helping you in the future of this class? Your response must be at least 100 words, and you only need to respond to me.
In the middle of page 3, the narrator compares stories of seamen to a nut, but he says that Marlow's were a little different, "not inside like a kernel but outside, enveloping tale which brought it out only as a glow brings out a haze, in the likeness of of one of those misty halos that sometimes are made visible by the spectral illumination of moonshine." Explain what you think he means by his comments on the telling of a story? On the “kernel” and “the misty halo”? What do these comments reveal about Marlow? Your response must be at least 100 words. You need to read and respond to at least one classmate, and those responses cannot simply be "agree" or "disagree," but must provoke discussion.

Your response must be at least 100 words, and you need to read and respond to at least two of your classmates in a manner that promotes discussion (not, "I agree, great response.").
Discuss the chapter from How to Read Literature Like a Professor that you feel is the most helpful or that you feel will benefit you the most in your academics (specifically, this class!). Do not just discuss the chapter that you taught:) Think about what stood out to you as significant. Explain how you will use the information in the future. Your response needs to be at least 100 words, and you only need to respond to me.
